The crew that brought the successful Candy Cruise event that helped Prince George celebrate Halloween, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, is back planning another event for Family Day next month.
The Family Day Adventure Cruise will take place Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and promises to be a city-wide adventure with big prizes for the whole family, according to organizer Dave Horton with Pandemic Friendly Entertainment and Ness Lake Bible Camp.
Interested participants will have to download an Adventure Cruise Card, which will lead them on a quest to get as many (or as few) of 25 activities completed in that five-hour span.
These objectives will take you all over the city to capture photos, complete tasks and pick up free giveaway items.
No registration is required, says Horton.
All you have to do is download the card and check it off when you complete the challenge.
You're asked to post photos with a copy of your filled card to Instagram or Facebook before noon on Feb. 22 with #pgadventurecruise.
Winners will be drawn from different categories like completed cards, partially completed cards, best photo, random draws and more.
Prizes include a family prize package from Downtown Prince George, a Nintendo Switch from Pandemic Friendly Entertainment and a Ness Lake Bible Camp Family Swag bundle.
Horton asks everyone that chooses to participate to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, keep physical distancing from other households while completing challenges, wear a mask in public areas, drive safely at all times and, above all, have fun.
Anyone in your group/vehicle is sick or experiencing symptoms of the virus is asked to stay home and not participate in the Family Day Adventure Cruise.
The Family Day Adventure Cruise seeks to meet and exceed all up to date health orders. As with all planning during the pandemic things can change quickly so be sure to like and follow the event on social media to stay up to date on any changes.
“If you would like to donate, please consider spending some money at a local business. This cruise is free and the cost to us is very minimal,” says the event organizers.
“Organizers planning it are proud of Prince George and their local businesses and would love to see them thrive. So, in short, we would prefer your money be spent on a local business rather than a donation to this cruise.”
