A great activity for this Thanksgiving weekend just might be the 20th annual Greenway Trail Run/Walk.
The event happens annually on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend and is meant to get everyone out to enjoy and appreciate the Cranbrook Hill Greenway Trails.
The Greenway has over 25 kilometres of multi-use trails, within city limits, that are open year-round for activities like biking, hiking and cross-country skiing.
The annual run-walk starts off a the UNBC Greenway Trailhead and will finish at Otway Ski Centre, which is an 18-km route.
Organizers have also set up carpooling to get participants back to their vehicles if need be.
Registration begins bright and early at the Otway Ski Centre at 8:15 a.m.
Walkers can carpool from Otway to the UNBC Trailhead at 8:30 a.m. and runners will carpool from Otway to the UNBC trailhead at 9:30 a.m.
For a shorter distance, participants can start on Cranbrook Hill where Takla Road crosses the Greenway, which is an 8-km distance to Otway.
The first aid station will also be set up on Takla Road junction with the Greenway Trail.
Admission is by donation. For more information, email organizer Dick Voneugen at [email protected].
