Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, but with provincial health orders in place coming up with the perfect date night is going to be a little different this year.

If you're wanting to stay home but still do something special on the 14th a few local restaurants have come up with Valentine’s Day boxes that will help you prepare the perfect meal at home.

We thought we’d help you plan something special and have rounded up a few local options for your consideration:

Steak Care with Birch & Boar

Birch & Boar has come up with a special Steak Care Box which includes a dinner for two. You’ll get all the fixings for a strip loin steaks, gouda mashed potatoes, wild mushroom gravy, honey thyme carrots and parsnips and macaroons for desert.

You’ll have to order quickly as pre-orders must be in by Feb. 8 but partial proceeds go toward the Prince George Hospice Society.

Four-course dinner from Farm House Catering

Farmhouse Catering has a Valentine's Day feature of a four-course meal created by their Chef Rodney. It is a set menu comprising of locally sourced and thoughtfully prepared fare, that includes vegetarian options as well as a selection of treats.

The four-course dinner for two includes shrimp gnocchi with parmesan, coconut lentil curry on butternut squash, stuffed beef tenderloin with wild lobster mushroom and sea scallops with red pepper coulis, beef demi hollandaise and baby vegetables.

But you’ll have to place your order for either Feb. 13 or 14 by Feb. 10.

Seafood pot from White Goose Bistro

White Goose Bistro has also put together a Valentine’s Day package to help you cook at home with your special someone.

The salad, seafood pot, and dessert combo comes with two full lobsters, crawfish, crab legs, prawns, scallops, mussels, clams, chorizo sausage, fingerling potatoes and corn.

You can order this to take home and cook for Feb. 13 or Feb. 14 but you’ll have to pre-order by Feb.11.

Twisted Cork's Valentines Day Dinner Box or Breakfast in Bed

You can start your Valentine's Day off right with Breakfast in Bed from the Twisted Cork. You can enjoy croissants with preserves, a pound of applewood smoked bacon, mix for pancakes, fresh field berries, homemade whip cream, and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Each box also comes with a Mimosa kit containing champagne, fresh orange juice, fresh berries and two champagne flutes! You'll have to order by Feb. 10 to get a box.

If you're more of a dinner person you can order the Twisted Cork's Valentine's Day Dinner box instead. For two people this box includes caesar salad, and a choice of mains - either surf and turf with a petite filet wrapped in wild boar bacon and six prawns in white wine butter sauce or lobster and cream cheese stuffed chicken supreme with white wine garlic cream sauce. If you're a vegetarian you can opt instead for the eggplant parmesan with a crispy fried parmesan panko crust.

For dessert, there's an in-house made chocolate marble cheesecake with fresh fruit salsa and whip cream or chocolate mousse parfait with fresh field berries and whip cream with complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries! Make sure to order by Feb. 10.

Takerie Valentine’s Day Crafts from the Makerie

Prince George’s local craft bar the Makerie will be open for Valentine’s Day activities, but if you’re looking for something to take home instead they’ve got that covered as well.

The Makerie has a Valentine's Day craft kit where you can make a sassy badge with sayings like “I feel whatever about you” and “you’re okay I guess.”

It has a pin backing so you can wear it and make your feelings are made clear to everyone around you. But it also comes with an envelope because it makes an adorable Valentine's card.
