Now that we’ve reached August, it’s time to get ready for one of Prince George’s best summer traditions — the British Columbia Northern Exhibition (BCNE)!
The BCNE is the largest fair held in Prince George, and it’s been held annually since 1912. That’s three years before the City of Prince George was incorporated and the same year the Titanic sank.
Today, the BCNE is run by a group of volunteer board members and is hosted by the Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association.
What can you expect at the BCNE? Everything and anything a great fair has to offer!
West Coast Amusements midway will be there with all of the traditional rides you love, and there’s going to be games, vendors and tons of deep-fried fair food and candy.
You’ll also be able to catch events like the Limelight Quest Voice Competition, barbecue cook-offs, 4-H shows, horse demonstrations and a dog show featuring tricks by the President’s Choice Superdogs!
There will also be mainstage entertainment to keep things rolling all weekend long. This year’s BCNE takes place from Aug. 16 to 19.
You can find a full schedule of events online. Admission is free for children 11 years old and under; youth and seniors are $5; and general admission is $10.
