PHOTOS: Despite downpour Prince George celebrates downtown Summerfest

Who's afraid of a little rain?

Rain or shine, the show must go on! And go on it did! Hurray!

Despite the near constant rain, thousands of people descended upon downtown Prince George today (July 14) to celebrate Summerfest.

The annual event takes place at Canada Games Plaza and the surrounding area. This year’s Summerfest featured everything from live entertainment including music and performances, vendors, games, and a taste pavilion where you could try food from a ton of Prince George restaurants.

Participants could check out a performance from the cast of Judy Russell’s Beauty and the Beast (which is currently showing at the Prince George Playhouse), check out activities in the Kids Zone, or get some taste tickets and have their fill of the huge variety of delicious food.

There was even a Hockey Circus performance, which delighted a very large crowd of onlookers.

Summerfest began at 11 a.m. this morning with all of the events wrapping up around 5 p.m.
