Photos: New transitional housing trailers being moved into place

They're intended to serve as housing as the city moves to eventually close down Moccasin Flats

The first transitional housing trailers started being moved into an area near Moccasin Flats on Tuesday.

The 44-unit project is intended to give as many as 88 people housing away from the makeshift shelters at the Flats. The site borders London Street, Lower Patricia Boulevard, Third and Fourth Avenues.

The city plans to close the Moccasin Flats encampment once the B.C. Housing shelter become operational and the services it provides are in place. That project is expected to be done by August or September.
