UPDATED: No injuries, $10,000 damage in Prince George VLA garage fire

Crews doused a fire between Spruce and Tamarack Streets

A mid-morning fire in the 2100-block Spruce Street has resulted in $10,000.00 damage. At about 10:30 a.m. crews from three Prince George Fire Rescue (PGFR) crews from three responded to the fire. 

The first arriving fire crew found an older wooden garage fully involved with fire. At the time of arrival, the fire had consumed most of the structure and heavy black smoke covered the area and could be seen throughout the city. 

Fire Crews quickly secured hydrants and with the use of the fire engine, water monitor were able to knock down the fire and cover neighbouring properties from any further fire damage. 

No injuries were reported at the fire scene, and PGFR says the fire has now been turned over to the RCMP for investigation.

Prince George Fire Rescue and Prince George RCMP responded to a structure fire in Prince George’s VLA neighbourhood this morning (May 5).

Shortly after 10 a.m. plumes of smoke could be seen throughout the neighbourhood as a structure in the alley between Spruce Street and Tamarack Street caught fire.

Crews had a small section of Spruce Street blocked off as they conquered the blaze.
