A pickup truck located behind a 700-block Gillett Street home went up in flames under suspicious circumstances shortly after midnight Thursday. Whether the cause was mechanical or a deliberate act is not clear.

A pickup truck located behind a 700-block Gillett Street home went up in flames under suspicious circumstances shortly after midnight Thursday.

Whether the cause was mechanical or a deliberate act is not clear.

"We called by the fire department to look into it," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "I'm not sure if we'll be able to conclusively say it's arson, but we are investigating."

A neighbour said no one lives in the home.

Anyone who may have been in the area at about that time and saw something suspicious is asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
