Be extra cautious if you're heading north of Prince George today (Jan. 29).
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass portion of Highway 97, stretching through to the Peace River region.
The agency is predicting up to 15 cm of snow during the alert as a frontal system starts to move across B.C., with its heaviest fall occurring this morning.
Drivers are being warned of limited visibility due to strong winds in the forecast blowing snow around on the roads.
The heavy snow is set to taper off by the late afternoon as warmer air will begin to settle in and leave a few flurries, along with a mix of rain showers.
Environment Canada says road conditions could become hazardous, especially in the mountains.
You can go to Drive B.C.'s website for up-to-date information on those conditions in the north.
