The Pineview Volunteer Fire Department was the busiest of the Regional District of Fraser Fort-George’s rural fire departments in November, according to statistics presented at the district board’s Dec. 19 meeting.
However, the year-to-date statistics show that Beaverly Fire/Rescue has been the busiest rural department by far.
The calls received by the rural departments in November are as follows in order of most to fewest calls:
- Pineview Volunteer Fire Department: 17
- Beaverly Fire/Rescue: 16
- Shell-Glen Fire/Rescue Department: 15
- McBride District Volunteer Fire Department: 11
- Valemount and District Volunteer Fire Department: 10
- Pilot Mountain Volunteer Fire Department: 10
- Salmon Valley Volunteer Fire Department: 8
- Red Rock/Stoner Volunteer Fire Department: 6
- Ness Lake Volunteer Fire Department: 5
- Hixon Volunteer Fire Department: 5
- Ferndale/Tabor Volunteer Fire Department: 5
- Buckhorn Volunteer Fire Department: 5 and
- Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department: 0.

- Valemount and District Volunteer Fire Department: 92
- Pilot Mountain Volunteer Fire Department: 89

- McBride District Volunteer Fire Department: 67
- Hixon Volunteer Fire Department: 61
- Ness Lake Volunteer Fire Department: 50
- Ferndale/Tabor Volunteer Fire Department: 48
- Salmon Valley Volunteer Fire Department: 43
- Red Rock/Stoner Volunteer Fire Department: 39 and
- Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department: 6
Of the two municipal fire departments, Prince George Fire Rescue was the busier of the two both year to date and in November with 10,401 and 885 calls respectively.
Mackenzie Fire Rescue Department had 154 calls as of the end of November and 18 calls within November itself.
Also presented at the meeting were November 911 call statistics for the regional district’s service area, which includes the Regional Districts of Kitimat-Stikine, Bulkley-Nechako, Cariboo as well as Fraser Fort-George.
In that month, 8,290 calls were received: 3,341 for police, 2,816 for ambulances, 346 fire calls and 1,787 calls where the caller hung up or the call was disconnected.
