With the smell of burned tires in the air at the corner of Second Avenue and Ottawa Street, there were emergency vehicles gathered early Saturday morning in downtown Prince George.
At about 6:33 a.m. Prince George Fire Rescue crews from four halls responded to a report of a commercial structure fire in the 600 block of Second Ave.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy flame in the alley at the rear of the building. Crews knocked down the fire and then transitioned to an interior attack as the fire spread into the building.
The fire was contained to the corner of the building.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
The building was not occupied at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries to fire personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
