A Prince George RCMP vehicle was involved in the pursuit of a fleeing chronic offender that led to an arrest Tuesday morning.

An attempt by police to pull over an erratic driver in downtown Prince George turned into a vehicle pursuit that led to the arrest of a chronic offender early Tuesday morning.

A Prince George RCMP patrol noticed the driver of a white SUV just after midnight Tuesday near the intersection of Burden Street and Fifth Avenue and police attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to respond and showed with his aggressive driving manoeuvres he was in no mood to stop.

The driver headed west on Highway 16 and continued to evade police for several minutes until police actions successfully stopped him on Tony Road near Helene Road, near the Westgate subdivision.

The man, identified as 38-year-old Bradley Arthur Denie Collier, was arrested and transported to the Prince George RCMP detachment and held for a later appearance in court.

He faces charges of failing to stop for police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting a police officer and possession of a weapon or ammunition while prohibited.
