The Prince George Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance between Sept. 2 and Oct. 6, the city has announced.
The closure is not connected to the extensive repair work recently approved by city council. That's set to begin next summer. This is the annual closure meant for scheduled maintenance and cleaning.
The pools will be drained and deep-cleaned, and some other upgrades will be made:
- New bleachers
- New cardio equipment in the gym area
- Regular maintenance
During the closure the Canfor Leisure Pool will operate under extended hours, although that facility will be closed for one day - Friday, Aug. 30 - for maintenance that includes mechanical testing and calibration.
Swimming lessons scheduled for Friday will take place at the Aquatic Centre instead.
The annual maintenance for the Canfor Leisure Pool is scheduled between Dec. 2 and Jan. 5.
