A Prince George-based woman in tech is giving back and sharing her experiences as a mentor to women entrepreneurs to help them break out in the industry.

Cheryll Wagner, Founder of Business2Mobile Communications Inc., is a Prince George-based mentor who is sharing her expertise in Discovery Foundation’s EM3 Program, presented by WeBC which is a not-for-profit organization that supports women entrepreneurs.

The program is designed to bring women together for leadership training and networking, plus mentorship from experienced tech CEOs, so they can grow their businesses.

Wagner founded Business2Mobile Communications Inc., consulting and software development company in 2011.

Using operational intelligence, they build customized mobile solutions for various small to mid-sized industrial or resource companies to solve their business challenges.

Over the next six months, Wagner will facilitate a peer mentoring group of women entrepreneurs who work in technology or innovation or use it in their business.

“This opportunity to mentor fellow women in entrepreneurship is the perfect opportunity for me to make a difference and share my knowledge, my biggest mistakes and my wins to encourage others who may be struggling. Specifically, women in tech are few and far between and I want to do everything in my power to change that,” said Wagner.

“With technology as the fastest growing sector in BC, women in tech can particularly benefit from mentoring as a means to build confidence, enhance skills, and grow their network, says Shauna Harper, CEO of WeBC.

“This program helps them create a peer network and tap into the investment, support and programs available for women working in this high-growth industry while gaining support and encouragement from like-minded women.”

Applications for the program are being accepted until July 14, and there are 32 spots available. WeBC encourages women business owners to apply even if they don’t consider themselves to be ‘tech’ entrepreneurs.

Eligible businesses for the EM3 Program include companies working in communications, social media and eCommerce as well as health sciences, alternative energy, design and more.
