Prince George celebrates Canada's 157th birthday in the park

Thousands of people attended Canada Day celebrations at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Monday.

Thousands of people attended Canada Day celebrations at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Monday, enjoying a warm overcast day that threatened rain but stayed dry. Entertainment was provided throughout the day from the noon opening ceremonies until 6pm.

Food trucks did a brisk business throughout the day as did tens of vendor booths offering goods, services and information.

The Little Prince narrow gauge train was in operation giving free rides to hundreds throughout the day and Origins Kitchen at The Exploration Place was kept busy catering to the park visitors.

This year there were no fireworks to end festivities due to concerns over drought conditions.
