Prince George’s peppiest rallied together for another successful outing at cheerleading provincials this month.
The PG All-Stars Cheer squad, in just their second season, were looking for back-to-back senior banners as B.C. champions down in Vancouver.
Team Conquer were placed third in the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Forum after moving up a level, thanks in part to last year’s success.
“We’re a ‘Level One’ senior team, so that means that we’re competing for two minutes and 30 seconds against other teams that are the elite of ‘Level One’ on the floor,” All-Stars Head Coach Jessica MacDonald explained to PrinceGeorgeMatters in an earlier interview.
“That’s probably what the hardest part is for them, so we do a little bit of extra mental preparation, just reminding them to be safe on the floor, keep a positive attitude, eat well, drink lots of water and just be healthy in general. If we lose any of those athletes, then we’re kind of hooped for a lot of our stunts.”
The bronze medal finish comes nearly a year after claiming the province’s inaugural championship title in Kamloops, where the Junior squad also brought back a second-place banner to Prince George.
A day earlier, the ladies showcased their talents at the Feel the Power competition, also in Vancouver.
