It's every athlete's dream: play in the pros and one Prince George native has come out on fire.
Twenty-three-year-old Jared Young, who plays for the Chicago Cubs, officially made his Major League Baseball debut against the San Diego Padres on Monday (Feb. 25) in Spring Traning action.
When he took his first trip to the plate in the seventh inning, he wasted absolutely no time.
With one on and two out and Chicago up 3-1, Young cranked his first major league hit off of Gerardo Reyes for his first home run, a two-run shot.

If that wasn't impressive enough, he once again caught eyes during his second training camp game yesterday (March 1) against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Young had two at-bats against the D'Backs but it appears the seventh inning is his favourite so far, which saw him crush another over the wall off of Sam Lewis but this time it was a three-run shot and again with two out.
He would finish one for two on the day and earn the spotlight in the Chicago Cub's winning tweet.

Young's stat line two games in? Four at-bats, two home runs, five runs batted in and a batting average of .500. Not a bad start for the pride of Prince George.
The Cubs are set to once again face San Diego this afternoon (March 20) at 12:05 p.m. PST.
