No injuries have been reported after a fire at Southridge Estates in College Heights.

Nobody was injured after Prince George Fire Rescue doused an accidental blaze at a local housing complex.

Assistant Fire Chief Dan Pears says four halls with 20 firefighters responded to a fire at Southridge Estates in College Heights at roughly 4:41 p.m. this afternoon (Jan. 21), which has left $200,000 in damages.

When crews arrived, heavy smoke and fire were coming out of one of the units near the back of the building which then involved a second unit and the roof.

Pears says crews knocked down the outside fire on the back deck and pressurized the building and attacked the fire from inside.

Piercing nozzles were used in the ceilings and thermal imaging cameras helped contain the fire, which took roughly three hours.

There were no injuries reported, says Pears, adding the fire is not being considered suspicious.
