The 23-year-old's big-league debut not only included 29 games with the Jets last year, but he also recorded his first career NHL regular-season and playoff goals.
On Aug. 3 against Calgary, Harkins gave the Jets a 1-0 lead in Game Three of its 2020 Stanley Cup-playoff play-in series after getting called into the line-up for Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine.

The North Vancouver product ultimately tallied seven points during his 2019-20 campaign, two goals and five assists along with five penalty minutes.
Harkins' first professional lamp was lit against the 2019 Stanley Cup-champion St. Louis Blues on Feb. 6 in the Jets' 4-2 road victory.
Harkins played four seasons with Prince George, scoring 242 points in 275 regular-season games with 75 goals and a franchise-high 167 assists, and helped the Cougars to their first B.C. Division title in 2017.
He was Winnipeg's second-round pick, 47th overall, from the 2015 NHL Draft.
Upon graduating from the WHL, Harkins joined the Jets' AHL-affiliate Manitoba Moose, where he's boasted 82 points in 156 total games, including 27 goals.
