If you frequently visit the Four Seasons Leisure Pool downtown, some of its services have been reduced because of emergency repairs.

The City of Prince George has closed off the main pool, including the diving boards and tank, due to a broken light underneath the water.

As the light under the surface is glass-covered, the pool has to be drained in order for crews to fix it.

There’s no current timeline on how long repairs will take to complete, so, as a result scheduled activities have been altered at the recreation centre on Dominion Street.

Swimming lessons for children in Levels 7, 8, 9 and 10 are cancelled indefinitely, while preschool to Level 6 classes will still run in the leisure and teach pools.

All fitness classes are also cancelled except for Range of Motion, which will take place at 10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The city also says public swimming at Four Seasons ‘will not occur when swimming lessons are scheduled. The warm, shallow tot pool and leisure pool will continue to be open when swimming lessons are not occurring.’

More information is available on the City of Prince George website.
