Prince George was hit by about five centimetres of snow overnight, but residents will have to trust the treads on their tires and boots for the time being, says the city.
Municipal policy is to plow main arteries only in the event a snowfall is more than 7.5 cm in a 24-hour period.
Michael Kellett, a spokesperson for the City of Prince George, says that while crews aren't plowing yet, they are still busy dealing with the results of last night's dump.
"When we receive less than (7.5 cm), there is still lots of work to be done. City crews are busy de-icing, clearing brush, making sure culverts are clear, putting down traction material, and plowing in outlying areas of the city."
Kellett adds the city is expecting the snow to melt soon, due to inclement warm temperatures, "so we are trusting Mother Nature throughout the rest of the weekend."
He adds residents shouldn't anticipate snow within the next week, but "we might get more around Christmas."
