Prince George homebuilder Copper Falls Custom Homes donated $140,000 to the Spirit of the North Healthcare foundation last week.
The funding came from the company’s Copper Project, which built and sold a home in the Aberdeen Glen subdivision. Over the past four years, the project has raised more than $450,000 to support healthcare at the University Hospital of Northern B.C. (UHNBC) through the foundation.
“We are so very grateful to Jeff and Brent at CopperFalls Custom Homes, and the incredible group of contractors and suppliers for their generosity and dedication to improving healthcare in the north,”Spirit of the North CEO Aimee Cassie said. “This project has had a significant impact and has truly made a difference for patients here at home. It is truly humbling to see a collaboration of this size come together, and the benefit will be felt right here at home by our friends and families."
The funds will be used to support the installation of a Tovertafel System in the short-term stay unit at UHNBC, infusions pumps for the littlest patients at UHNBC, and the remainder will be put towards the Regional Cardiac Strategy.
“It is once again closure to what we all wanted; to build a first-class home, engage trades and suppliers of goods and services, and give back to healthcare here at home. With over 40 contributing companies who support this project - all with the same goal to ensure that these funds make a difference,” Copper Falls Custom Homes co-owner Jeff Stewart said. “Working with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, we know that these funds will have impact that is needed.”
