Prince George hosts successful Alpine Skiing Provincials at Purden

Adree Brulotte finishes a Ski Club-best fifth place at Under-14 event

Despite an excellent regional run two weeks prior, Prince George Alpine Skiers could not find the podium this weekend.

The club hosted the 2019 B.C. TECK Under-14 Provincials at Purden Ski Village on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (March 15-17), which saw more than 160 athletes on the mountain from across the province.

The best finish for Prince George came from Adree Brulotte on Saturday, who crossed the Women’s Giant Slalom finish line in fifth place at 1:45.05.

She missed out on the bronze medal by 0:00.19.

The top men’s racer was Isaac Hausot, who came in seventh place in the Men’s Slalom on Friday with a time of 1:39.36, missing out on the podium by nearly two whole minutes.

Provincials concluded on Sunday with 32 teams of five competing in head-to-head dual slalom; results have not been released yet.

The next event for the Prince George Alpine Ski Club is next month, April 5-7, when Hudson Bay Mountain in Smithers hosts the TECK North Zone Finals.
