Two Prince George boys made the best of an icy situation, turning the street in front of their house into their own personal skating rink.
Corrine Coles-Mohns recorded a video her two sons, Chris and Ryan, as they skated up and down their ice-covered street in the Heritage area on Jan. 13.
“Basically, the boys wanted to go out on the rink in the back and they were sulking that it was too soft so they couldn't,” says Coles-Mohns.
“There was some teasing that the streets were a perfect rink and they said if they can’t go on to the backyard they will go on the front yard and much to my surprise they did!”
She uploaded the video to the Facebook Group Hell Yeah Prince George, where it immediately received a positive reaction, gaining over 320 likes and 20 comments.
“It was just the kids out having fun and it was great because it gave them something fun to do, and they like the joy and the uniqueness of it,” says Coles-Mohns. “The reaction on Hell Yeah PG about how other people did that as kids was really neat, too.”
She says the boys weren’t able to actually play a game of hockey on the street but had fun skating up and down on the icy road.
