Police in Prince George is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent pepper spray incident at Pine Centre Mall.
Spokesperson Cst. Jennifer Cooper says RCMP received numerous calls just before noon on Monday (April 12), which prompted frontline officers to go to the mall.
Officers spoke with two youths who said a man wearing a balaclava and baseball hat approached their group, where they were standing inside the shopping centre before yelling to get their attention.
The suspect then sprayed bear spray at the group, which hit two youth, and ran away before hopping into, what surveillance captured was, a silver, four-door sedan.
Cooper says the group didn't know who the suspect was or have any idea of a motive behind the incident.
Emergency Health Services attended and checked the two youth impacted before releasing them to their parents.
Mounties say the suspect is described as:
- Roughly 5'0" to 5'2" tall
- Slim build
- Wearing...
- Blue jeans
- White hoodie
- Black and grey sweatshirt
- Bright white shoes
- Tan balaclava
- Baseball hat
