Standing at firm attention may not be in their nature, but the ones benefitting from their show certainly know what it means to represent Canada.
Canadian Wrestling Elite (CWE) is currently on their 10-year anniversary tour and will be making its first stop in Prince George, and in northern B.C., next month, but the show will bring more than just legendary leg breakers.
The federation has decided that a portion of the proceeds will go to support the NLCC #142 Aurora Navy League cadets in the city.
Every summer, young kids between ages nine and 11 who join the Prince George branch head down to Stanley Park in Vancouver for a camp on an active military base.
While down there, the cadets develop skills such as sailing, marksmanship, and outdoor adventure training, while also learning lessons in healthy living, citizenship, leadership, and teamwork.
The camp fund being put together by the CWE will compile 100 per cent of concession money and an undisclosed portion from every ticket sold.
The tour is stopping in a total of 38 cities across Canada, featuring a line-up of local, national, and international talent, men and women, headlined by 30-year career Mexican Lucha Libre Legend Psicosis.
Notable names also include Prince George wrestler Mauler, CWE Champion "Hotshot" Danny Duggan, Spain's seven-foot Giant Alex Ace, women's wrestling star Maddison Miles, "The Queen Of The Okanagan" Scarlett Black, Austrian MMA Champion Martn Pain, and "The Belgian Bull" Robin Lekime.
The one-night rumble begins Sunday, April 7 at the Connaught Youth Centre on 17th Ave.
A V.I.P. meet-and-greet is scheduled for 6 p.m. prior to the first bell at 7 p.m.
