The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. (IIO) has finished their investigation of a Feb. 2019, police-involved incident in Prince George.

The IIO announced yesterday (May 13), the Chief Civilian Director has finished reviewing information from a Feb. 28, 2019 incident involving a man and a police officer.

A man was arrested and shortly afterwards complained of pain and was taken to hospital.

It was discovered he had a reported fractured arm, but the IIO has now determined the injury pre-existed before any police contact.

The investigation has now been closed.

On Feb. 28, 2019, at roughly 11:50 a.m., an officer had tried to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle at Fifth Ave.

Police say the suspect's vehicle had been involved with a collision of the marked police car and the man tried to take off on foot.

The officer was able to catch him and arrest him.
