Mounties in Prince George are investigating a violent home invasion yesterday evening (March 28).

Police say at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to report of the incident involving an assault at a Pineview home.

Upon arrival, initial indications were an unknown man had entered the home and assaulted the man inside and fled the scene.

A Police Dog Service team was deployed with multiple officers, but the suspect was not found.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was also knocked out during the invasion, which Prince George RCMP believe led to a delay before they were called.

The suspect is described as:

  • First nations man
  • 183 cm (6'0")
  • 113 kgs (250 pounds)
  • Black messy hair with some facial hair
  • Wearing black sunglasses, a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a large backpack

Police say the motive of the incident is not yet known, but it is possible the man was startled by the victim.

If you have any information about the incident, you are asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or Crime-Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
