Prince George RCMP investigate street robbery

Victim was threatened with knife early Sunday near Ferry Avenue and Westwood Drive

Prince George RCMP are warning residents to take precautions when walking city streets to prevent robberies.

Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for two suspects connected to robbery early Sunday morning near the Ferry Avenue/Westwood Drive intersection.

At about 12:30 a.m., a male victim was approached by a man and woman who demanded he hand over his wallet and backpack. The male suspect showed he had a knife and the victim complied by handing over his backpack.

Police were called to the scene soon after and surrounded the area but could not locate the  robbers.

The male suspect is described as:

- Caucasian

- Between 16-20 years old

- Slim build

- Between five-foot-four and five-foot-five

- Dressed all in black

The female suspect is described as:

- Caucasian

- Between 18-20 years old

- Slim build

- Between five-foot-four and five-foot-five

- Brown hair

- Dressed all in black

No injuries were reported.

To prevent a similar crime, the RCMP advise people to walk with a companion whenever possible and be prepared that you might be at risk if you walk alone, especially at night.
