Prince George RCMP is continuing to investigate following a confirmed shooting this past weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 2 at about 11:15 p.m. police received a report of shots fired on the 500 block of Alward Street.

Multiple officers attended the area and located, what police are calling, an unoccupied and insecure residence.

Information provided by witnesses, as well as evidence at the scene, have led police to believe that an exchange of gunfire occurred between people inside a vehicle and the occupants of the home.

The vehicle and occupants of the house fled the area before Mounties were called. Police say at least one bullet pierced the exterior wall of a neighbouring home.

No injuries have been reported and witnesses described the vehicle involved as a dark-coloured sedan.

A police dog service team located a firearm near the residence and tracked a scent for several blocks, however, no one was located.

Police have located and spoken to the two adult residents of the house. Investigators believe this incident was targeted and not a random act and the investigation is ongoing.
