Prince George RCMP arrested a 29-year-old man following a collision where alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Just before 7 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 28), police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on University Way.

Frontline officers and other emergency services attended the area and found a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV near UNBC.

BC Ambulance Service transported three people to University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) for injuries sustained during the collision.

The driver of the SUV did not sustain serious injuries but police transported the 29-year-old male to the detachment and later released him on an Appearance Notice for court on March 31, 2021, pending charge assessment from the B.C. Prosecution Service.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

"If you witness an impaired person get behind the wheel of a vehicle or witness a possibly impaired driver on our roads, please immediately call 9-1-1," states Cst. Jennifer Cooper, in a news release.

“Your efforts to contact police may save a life.”
