Prince George RCMP officers say they had an exceptionally busy Sunday night.
General Duty Officers responded to 31 calls for service from 7 p.m. last night (Oct. 28) until 7 a.m. this morning. Police say they received a variety of calls that required plenty of resources.
Some of the calls for service included:
10 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 1900 block of Third Avenue. Members attended and heard a female yelling for help. Officers entered the residence and located an adult female suffering from non-life threatening injuries. A 57-year-old male was arrested, held in custody overnight and will attend court later today (Oct. 29).
2 a.m.: RCMP responded to a report of a stolen Ford F-250 pickup from an address on Abbott Street. A few minutes later, the vehicle was briefly spotted on 17th Avenue, before being located abandoned near Carney Street and 10th Avenue a few minutes later. The suspect still at large.
2:55 a.m.: Police received a report of a commercial alarm at a business on Gauthier Road off Highway 16. Officers, including a police dog service team, attended the area immediately. A 25-year-old female most recently from Kamloops was arrested near the scene and is currently in custody. Investigators believe the female was not acting alone.
5 a.m.: Police were called to the area of Tyner Boulevard and 15th Avenue for a report of a male with apparent mental health concerns. Officers located a naked 40-year-old male in the area showing signs of “excited delirium,” according to a press release. The male was erratic and violent toward members but Mounties say officers were able to control the man until paramedics were able to assist. The man was transported to hospital for further treatment.
6 a.m.: Police received another report of a commercial alarm at the same business on Gauthier Road off Highway 16. Multiple police officers, including a police dog service team, attended the area and arrested a 27-year-old male from Kelowna. A second male suspect fled the area in a grey truck, likely stolen. Neither the suspect nor the truck have been located as of yet.
