Police responded to two collisions on Highway 16 west of Prince George this morning (Nov. 5) and are warning drivers to be aware of changing road conditions.

Just after 5 a.m., RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 16 near Lower Mud River Road after an unloaded tractor-trailer unit lost control while coming down a hill.

No injuries were reported, but the unit blocked the entire road and prevented other vehicles from travelling.

The truck was eventually removed and the road reopened just before 8 a.m.

Then, just before 7:30 a.m., police received a report of a single-vehicle rollover collision on Highway 16 near Norman Lake Road.

Frontline officers and other emergency services attended the scene.

The driver was trapped inside the small passenger vehicle, but Beaverley Volunteer Fire Department was able to remove them with special equipment.

Paramedics transported him to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and the highway was reopened at about 8:30 a.m.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind the public to take extra precautions when driving at this time of year as changes in temperatures can occur and different segments of roads can have different conditions.
