Another big name retail store in Prince George has confirmed a team member tested positive for COVID-19.
Loblaws confirmed to PrinceGeorgeMatters the case was discovered recently at Real Canadian Superstore on Ferry Avenue and have been working with public health authorities and taken numerous steps to minimize risk.
The company says it has implemented increased sanitization protocols and enforcing social-distancing practices in the building.
Any team members that worked closely with the employee are at home in self-isolation and monitoring for any symptoms. The member worked their last shift on Nov. 18.
Real Canadian Superstore has also arranged for additional cleaning, Loblaws explains.
The company also operates other retailers like Shoppers Drug Mart and No Frills.
On Wednesday (Nov. 25), the College Heights Tim Hortons location also confirmed an employee has tested positive, which promoted the closure of its restaurant until Dec. 1 for extra cleaning.
"The team member and those who worked with them are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported through Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to provide for any lost wages," the company said in a statement.
"We wish them well and look forward to seeing all team members once their self-isolation is complete."
