A couple of rainy months meant high river waters and the closure of a few beloved Prince George parks and trails.
However, those riverfront parks and trails are now open once again, as per the city today (Aug. 5).
In late June, Cottonwood Island Park and the Heritage River Trail from the Cameron Street Bridge to Taylor Drive were closed due to rising river levels.
Barricades were installed at parking lot entrances and warning signs were installed at various locations in the park.
Paddlewheel and Hazelton Parks were also closed with signage installed, but Nechako Riverside Park and McMillan Creek Fishing Park remained open.
You can now head back out and enjoy a sunny walk, jog or bike ride along any riverfront trail in the city.
