Fall school transit service is returning to Prince George. On Sept. 5, season service for school routes will return.

School trips on Route 15 UNBC/Downtown and 55 Victoria will resume. These trips are denoted by the “U” and “F” trip notes in the Rider’s Guide.

School trips for students in K – 12 schools will also resume. This includes the following routes:

12 Parkridge

96 Shas Ti Kelly Road

97 Shas Ti Kelly Road

However, as construction continues on the Shane Creek Bridge, a portion of University Way remains closed.

During the closure, Route 15 UNBC/Downtown, Route 16 UNBC/College Heights and Route 19 UNBC/Westgate will be detoured around the area. Six bus stops along 15th Avenue between Foothills Boulevard and Ospika Boulevard will be closed temporarily.

Work is expected to continue until September 15, 2023.

A full breakdown of the detour along with maps can be found online.

Explosion detours

Following Tuesday’s explosion incident in the city’s downtown core, BC Transit buses will be detoured as the investigation and cleanup is ongoing. Dominion Street remains closed between 3rd and 5th Avenues, and as a result, the bus stops on Dominion Street at 4th Avenue are temporarily closed.

Other intermittent closures may be possible as the incident response continues.

Customer information on stop closures will be made available on stop signage and online service alerts.
