The most successful season in Prince George Spruce Kings’ history will be enshrined this Fall to kick off a new B.C. Hockey League (BCHL) season.
The first community-owned BCHL team to ever win the Fred Page Cup will see two new banners rise up to the rafters of the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA) in celebration of their 2018-19 season, which saw the team make it all the way to the National Junior ‘A’ final.
The league and regional title banners will be unveiled on Friday, Sept. 6 when the ‘Kings welcome the Surrey Eagles for their 2019-20 home-opener, commencing their quest for a second straight championship.
Prince George will also be defending an incredible winning streak that night as the team has not lost a game on home ice in 2019 thus far, claiming victory in 20 straight contests from the start of the new year to Game Six of the Doyle Cup against Brooks.
The Spruce Kings’ schedule gets a little spooky as they’ll host a game on Friday, Sept. 13 against the Victoria Grizzlies in a rematch of the 2018 Coastal Conference Finals.
Two months later, on Nov. 13, the Vernon Vipers will make their way to the northern capital for the first meeting since the Fred Page Cup Finals.
Prince George has five featured games this season, including three nights when they’ll wear three different specialty sweaters, the annual Drop the Gloves Night on Dec. 13th, and Fan Appreciation Night on Feb. 21st, 2020.
Season tickets and flex-plans are already up for sale, but single-game tickets won’t be available until Sept. 3, three days before the home-opener.
More information on ticket sales is up on the Spruce Kings website.
