After falling to B.C.-best Coquitlam Express in a shootout on Wednesday (Nov. 6) and salvaging a point, the Prince George Spruce Kings couldn’t follow through on the rest of its Metro Vancouver swing.

The defending league champions would go on to lose by significant margins on Friday (Nov. 8) and Saturday (Nov. 9), giving up deficits of 7-2 in Surrey and 4-1 in Chilliwack.

Jett Alexander was between the pipes both nights, making 22 saves against the Eagles and 24 against the Chiefs.

Prince George’s record falls to 8-11-2-2 as the shootout loss got them to 20 points on the season.

The Spruce Kings gave up the first three goals in each contest while going two-for-nine (2/9) on the power-play.

Corey Cunningham and Nick Poisson were responsible in getting those two markers on special teams, both coming in the second period on Friday in Surrey.

Ryan McAllister was the lone goal-scorer in Chilliwack also in middle-period play.

Prince George will endure another three games in four days, but this time they hope home-ice advantage can get them back in the win column.

The ‘Kings face Vernon on Wednesday (Nov. 13) for the first time since sweeping them in the 2019 Fred Page Cup Finals.

Then, they’ll welcome the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Friday (Nov. 15) and the West Kelowna Warriors Saturday (Nov. 16).

Puck drop for all three games is 7 p.m. from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
