Prince George Ukrainian community comes together for third anniversary of war

Hundreds of refugees have settled in the area since Russia invaded three years ago

Three years into Russia's war on Ukraine, talks of ceasefires and an end to the conflict have resurfaced.

For the Ukrainians who have settled in Prince George during that time, it would be a dream come true. However, much work remains to help them fully integrate into the community.

Approximately 180 people gathered at Knox Performance Centre on Sunday to hear from those working to support the families and accommodate the more than 150 children now living here, many of whom have limited English skills.

Share Hope and Prince George for Ukraine have partnered with government agencies, local businesses and individuals to provide housing, employment, and education for the displaced families.

During the event, updates on the war were shared, along with pleas for continued support, before the screening of Life to the Limit. The documentary chronicles how Ukrainian filmmakers took up arms to defend their country while capturing the realities of war.

Life to the Limit is a documentary that follows two film producers serving in the Ukrainan military as they return to their homeland after attending the 2016 Oscars.
