The City of Prince George wants to know what you think about where your tax dollars go.

They're providing residents with an opportunity to express their opinions about the budget allocations for various city services.

Feedback will be collected through the month of October by an online budget simulator called Citizen Budget.

Residents can enter their personal property assessment into the interactive survey and see how their property taxes are distributed across a variety of city operations.

The tool also shows how their choices about the financial allocations to various city services would be reflected in their personal property tax bill.

When finished with the questionnaire, residents can submit their feedback, review the implications of their personal taxes, and have the opportunity to share their results on social media.

The results of the surveys will be presented for council’s consideration during the 2019 budget deliberations.

The Citizen Budget tool was first used by the city in 2015, and continues to be a part of the city’s “Talktober” events. The city hosts informal Talktober meetings in different communities throughout the city during the month of October to help council reconnect with residents.
