If you have an existing membership at Prince George's Exploration Place Museum and Science Centre, there's now an update regarding your memberships.

Tracy Calogheros says, regardless of the existing non-refundable condition on memberships, expiry dates will be extended by the same amount of time its doors have been closed.

“We wanted to make sure that our members know that they are on our minds as we work through this crisis together," the Exploration Place CEO says in a news release.

Currently, 90 per cent of Exploration's team is working from home, in which the museum is also hoping to spread B.C.'s mandate that everyone stays home.

"We encourage all of our visitors and members to do the same if they possibly can," the release adds.

"Staying home now is the best way to help not just your own families but the community as a whole. We would also like to thank all of you who are going into work to serve your neighbours in all essential areas."

The museum isn't going away 100 per cent during the crisis, however.

It says there will be daily Facebook LIVE Broadcasts on the Hell Yeah Prince George Facebook page at 10 a.m., featuring both Animal Ambassadors and Collection vault, with staff experts on-hand to answer questions in real-time.

Calogheros says no decisions have been made yet about Summer Science Alliance or Fort George Explorer Camps.

“Stay safe at home,” she finishes the release.

“The data shows that we are making headway collectively and I believe that we will beat this together!”
