Members of the Prince George Red Dress Society held a stand-in Sunday at the Red Dress monument, Ferry Avenue at Highway 16 West, before proceeding to Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Pavilion.
This year's stand-in featured ties to represent missing and murdered men as well as the dresses for women.
Red Dress Day honours the memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls across Canada. Red dresses are hung from windows and trees to honour the missing and represent the pain and loss felt by loved ones and survivors.
This was also the first year the Red Dress Society joined the PGSO's Pops in the Park event at the bandshell before returning to the pavilion for guest speakers, drummers, dancers, entertainment and hands-on activities.
