A Prince George biathlete didn’t reach the podium this weekend, but still made her country proud.
Winter Olympian Sarah Beaudry capped off her performance at the 2018 Biathlon World Cup in Italy in the early hours of Saturday morning with a 46th place finish in the 10km pursuit.
There were 60 other international competitors in this event, but 10 of them did not start.
The 24-year-old hit 15 of 20 targets in the race, which included missing four targets at the first shooting station.
As a result, she unfortunately lost time in the race, dropping to the back of the pack and 5:07.5 behind gold medallist Dorothea Wierer (Italy).
Last week, Beaudry sprinted to the top 40 of the 7.5km race out of 94.
The Prince George product is expected to return to Canada as the Biathlon World Cup’s next stop on the circuit is in Canmore, Alberta from Feb. 7 - 10.
