'Prolific property offender' wanted

Fort St. John police are asking for the public's help finding a "prolific property offender" know to frequent many communities across northern B.C. and the Alberta Peace.

In a news release, RCMP say Matthew Edmund Duffy, 40, is wanted on warrants for a range of offenses, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, theft under $5000, and break and enter.

Duffy is also wanted on warrants for flight from police, dangerous driving, and six counts of breaching release orders, police said.

RCMP say Duffy has no fixed address and is known to frequent the city as well as Dawson Creek and Prince George.

In Alberta, police say Duffy is known to frequent Grande Prairie, Whitecourt, Parkland, Fox Creek, and Stony Plain.

He described as a Caucasian male standing five-feet-ten-inches tall and weighing 212 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes, as well as a tattoo of a rose on his right hand, a tattoo of "brass knuckles respect" on his left hand, police said.
