Winning the $1 million Lotto 6/49 Guaranteed Prize has left Michael Redmile from Quesnel in awe, he said.
He won on Dec. 11 and is treating himself and his daughters to a recreational vehicle.
“I’ll buy a side-by-side for me and my girls,” Redmile said after claiming his prize.
Redmile said he’s looking forward to giving back to his community as well.
“I’ve always wanted to help others, so some will go to tithings,” he said.
Redmile purchased his ticket at Frank’s Grocery Store and went back there to check out his winnings.
“I was in disbelief when I saw the number come up on the screen,” he recalled. “I checked it several times to make sure it was true.”
Once he realized he’d won, he called his dad to share his life-changing news.
“He was just in awe – like I was, and excited for me,” he recalled.
In 2021, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $99 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49.
