A lot of things can change in 100 years, but for the Royal Bank - celebrating its centennial in Prince George on Tuesday - community outreach has never wavered.
"Since the first branch opened one thing that RBC has always been committed to is serving the client and committed to making sure that the clients and the community build a better future," said Scott Hart, manager of the bank's Victoria Street branch. "And one of the many ways we've been doing that is through partnerships much like the one we've enjoyed with Spirit of the North since their inception 23 years ago."
The branch marked their milestone with a $25,000 donation to Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
The foundation was "so pleased to get the call that a wonderful donation was being made," said CEO Judy Neiser.
Donated funds will go towards purchasing a diagnostic SPECT CT scanner. The foundation has almost reached its goal for the $1.4 million piece of equipment that does everything, said Neiser.
"And that's thanks to RBC and many other organizations in the community and individual supporters who really support health care in Prince George and its surrounding areas," she said.
