Prince George RCMP Downtown Safety Unit partnered with Pine Centre Mall security to crack down on prolific shoplifters, according to a RCMP statement released on Friday.
During a three day period between Sept. 16 and Sept 18, RCMP arrested 32 people for a variety of offences including theft, resisting arrest and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.
In addition, RCMP arrested three people on outstanding warrants for previous charges. Many of those arrested were well-known to police for similar offences and more than one was violating court orders not to be at the mall.
A total of $4,500 in stolen goods were recovered.

A total of 20 reports were sent to the B.C. Prosecution Service as a result of the “Boost and Bust” operation.
“This is another great example of the hard work our police officers are doing on a daily basis to keep Prince George safe,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said.
The suspects were released on undertakings with future court dates and the investigations are ongoing.
