RCMP officers were stopping and searching vehicles on Hoferkamp Road Monday evening as a helicopter circled overhead.
Several officers maintained a blockade near the road's intersection with the Hart Highway at around 4:30 p.m.
Access to the road was closed at about 4 p.m. Residents told The Citizen they had been advised by police to "go shopping," as the incident will take time to resolve.
Police said at about 6 p.m. that a suspect or suspects had been located and the road would reopen soon.
