A man taking a cab pulled a knife late Christmas night and demanded to be driven out of the province.

“The taxi driver stopped in front of the airport and got out of the vehicle," states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, the Prince George RCMP's media relations officer. "The suspect then got into the driver’s seat and drove away from the airport in the taxi. Thankfully, the driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident.”

The taxi was found in a ditch a short time later. The suspect had already fled the scene.

Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses to the incident or to anyone who may have dash camera footage of the orange taxi arriving or leaving the airport.
