Nobody is prouder than the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on Canada day.
This year our local detachment - with 16 members on patrol - were granted special permission to wear their high brown boots, breeches, and Stetson hats as they went about their usual duties responding to calls in their patrol cars.
With two B Watch members in red serge at Canada Day ceremonies, the others on duty wore a modified uniform similar to what the Mounties wore 50 years ago, said RCMP Cst. Lesley Smith, media communications officer.
